When Time Stops for a Moment
A series in progress, watercolour/ goauche paintings capturing those moments that stop you in your tracks for a while.

  1. A Curious Nature, part of the 'When Time Stops for a Moment' series. A play on words. Watching 'nature' creep with curiosity along the bridge, maybe it wants to see why the Willow is Weeping ;) It's funny how our paths cross when we do the same with that same curiosity as to what's on the other side and drawing us in. Gouache/watercolour painting by London artist, Tracie Wayling.
  2. Friday - part of the 'When Time Stops for a Moment' series. A moment of peace and breathtaking beauty. What the eyes have seen a thousand times , it takes a special moment for it to actually be seen for the first time after many. Gouache/watercolour painting by London artist, Tracie Wayling
  3. Twilight - part of the 'When Time Stops for a Moment' series. There is nothing quite as magical as a twilight winter scene where the skies reflect their colours on the snow, the lights throwing a different kind of reflection back on the iced over waters while Mother Nature decorates her trees in a way that only she could. This painting captures it all. Gouache/watercolour painting by London artist, Tracie Wayling
  4. Walking My Human - part of the 'When Time Stops for a Moment' series. A double take as you realise you don't actually know who's walking who, a humorous perspective on a quiet Sunday morning walking through the park. Gouache/watercolour painting by London artist, Tracie Wayling
  5. Wonderment - part of the 'When Time Stops for a Moment' series. An artwork that depicts a little girl crouching in the garden having spotted a snail for the first time. Brave and curious enough to want to get as close as possible while maintaining a respectful distance as she watches in awe as the snail goes about his business. The little girl has completely forgotten what she went into the garden for in the first place. Magical moments and memories in the making. Gouache/watercolour painting by London artist, Tracie Wayling.
  6. 'In Worlds of their Own', part of the 'When Time Stops for a Moment' series. A snowy, twilight scene, people taking a walk, nature being her beautiful self. this painting depicts how we may all be in the same place, enjoying the surroundings as a whole, yet can still be worlds apart in thoughts and dreams, right down to the little dog and the robin's curiosity for each other. Gouache/watercolour painting by London artist, Tracie Wayling
  1. Street Life pt 1, a beautiful gouache, watercolour painting, though there are no people in the painting, the stairway is full of life. Adorned with plants and flowers lining the steps the step and hanging from the walls bringing colour and energy to this otherwise quiet passageway. By London Artist, Tracie Wayling.
  2. Street Life pt 2, a beautiful gouache, watercolour painting, though there are no humans in this painting, and yet the detail in the window shutters, the signs hanging above doorways states otherwise. By London Artist, Tracie Wayling.
  3. Street Life pt 3, a pretty gouache, watercolour painting, people are eating and drinking under a canope while cushions are set out on low walls for extra comfort, enticing all who pass to stop, to take a break and talk to some of the locals. By London Artist, Tracie Wayling.
  4. Street Life pt 4, a beautiful gouache, watercolour artwork, a celebration of life where even the surrounding plants and trees are climbing and reaching to be a part of it all. By London Artist, Tracie Wayling.
  5. Street Life pt 5, a peaceful gouache, watercolour painting, the stories those blossoms and bricks could tell, whispering to each other in quiet moments. More stories to be made when the empty tables and chairs become filled with visitors once more.
  6. Street Life pt 6 of the series, a gouache, watercolour painting. Despite the life all around them the couple are completely immersed in a world of their own. By London Artist, Tracie Wayling.
  7. Street Life, pt 7 of the series. A gouache/watercolour painting of a woman looking out to sea. Do you see a woman waiting for someone who hasn't arrived? Or do you see, as I do, a woman in love with life itself? Not a soul in sight, confident in being at one with Nature, taking in and appreciating every step she takes along her path, she pauses to say hello to it all. By London Artist, Tracie Wayling.
  8. Street Life pt 8 of the series. A little girl spends a quiet moment creating seemingly magical bubbles, in complete awe of the swirling colours they produce, perhaps truly noticing them and seeing them for what they are for the first time. The younger child in the painting is the same little girl, curious and unsure about taking her first steps into the world around her, drawn to what she has never seen before. By London Artist, Tracie Wayling.
  9. Street Life pt 9 of the series, a little corner passed every day yet so often hidden behind passing traffic. The two phone boxes are completely different versions, a newer one built later next to the existing one. They look like His and Hers changing rooms for Superman and Supergirl. By London Artist, Tracie Wayling.
  10. Street Life pt10. Gouache and watercolour artwork of a beautiful view of an every day street as the colours come alive and shine their brightest when it's at its darkest. The painting itself capturing a moment and holding it still in time for those who pass it every day yet never see it. By London Artist, Tracie Wayling.
  11. Street Life pt 11 of the series. A very special painting with a deep hidden meaning to the new owner of the painting. He shared a story with me of a time he'd passed that very spot and had been feeling very unwell. The woman in white almost hidden behind the tree reminded him of how he had felt watched over, as a series of unexpected events took place, including a lady who was wearing a white t-shirt had been in the right place at the right time to help him. I love it when things like this happen. It just felt right to include the lady in white in the painting without ever having known that story. Long may the new owner of painting continue to feel watched over. By London Artist, Tracie Wayling.
  12. Street Life pt 12 of the series. A gouache/watercolour painting reminding us that no matter how dull something may seem, it doesn't have to stay that way.
